November 2016 – Melanie Griffith was one of three honorees at Fonkoze’s Hot Night in Haiti gala on November 19, 2016. The other prestigious honorees were Dr. Henri Ford, Vice President and Chief of Surgery, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and Bishop Charles E. Blake, Sr., Presiding Bishop of the Church of God in Christ Los Angeles.
All three were honored for their years of philanthropic work across the world, including Haiti. Melanie’s visit to Haiti in 2016 had a profound impact on her personally – as she was able to see firsthand the work Fonkoze is doing for the poor and the need for global support.
Members of the celebrity community in LA attended the event, including Actress and Talk Show Host Garcelle Beauvais and Producer/Film Actress Sanaa Lathan (below) – who both MC’d the event that night.
Also in attendance were media mogul Russell Simmons, Actress Erica Ash, Actress Meagan Tandy and more.
