This case study describes Fonkoze’s experience with its branch in Marigot, Haiti, discussing its efforts to improve financial service delivery to the poor, establish center attendance, repayment and proper investment of loans and efforts to shift center leadership from MFI staff to local credit center members. The paper highlights Fonkoze’s belief in opening branches in underserved areas and spreading their reach through traditional solidarity group credit centers.

Fonkoze leadership holds live webinar for earthquake anniversary
Fonkoze marked the two-year anniversary of the Jan. 12, 2010 earthquake with our first-ever live webinar with supporters. More than 100 people participated in a discussion with Fonkoze’s top leadership, Fonkoze Financial Services CEO Anne Hastings and Fonkoze Director Carine Roenen, who reflected on Haiti’s progress since the earthquake and answered participants’ questions. Prof. Muhammad Yunus visits Fonkoze
