Our Programs
Fonkoze’s strong suite of products and services include:- A full offering of microcredit programs mostly for women ranging from Fonkoze’s program for the ultra poor (Chemen Lavi Miyò, or Path to a Better Life), to a thriving program of solidarity group lending, to individual business development loans for the most successful clients and micro-entrepreneurs (more about these programs);
- A multiplicity of savings products;
- Currency exchange services;
- Money transfer (remittance) services;
- Life-skills education for borrowers, developing leadership and solidarity among credit center members (including modules on basic literacy, business skills, health, human rights, and environmental protection);
- Additional innovations for clients, including micro-insurance, assistance in access to health care, village phone programs, and debit cards.
Education Programs
In Haiti, 52% – more than half! – of the population is illiterate. The majority of those who are illiterate are based in the rural areas where Fonkoze works.
